RESPONSIVE GEOLOGICAL BEACH
Pratt Institute | 2013
Critic: Philip Parker
The project is created by the combination of many surfaces to serve as a responsive beach. It locates in 8th Ave-High Line. There is a constant movement in this area. People are jogging, rollerblading, driving, biking, etc…All those movements of cars and people are rapid. It is not possible to stand. The geologic beach aims to change the level of speed by responsive materials. Generating electricity by piezoelectric surfaces will generate awareness in users’ recreational activities in that area.
